Spring Awakens Stained Glass Suncatcher - Art Deco Drops Series

Spring Awakens Stained Glass Suncatcher is part of my Seasons Drops Collection, a series of handcrafted stained glass suncatchers inspired by the changing beauty of the year. Each Drop features a distinctive teardrop silhouette with an Art Deco-inspired fan shape at the base and a smaller coordinating drop above.

Designed to capture the return of spring, this piece was inspired by tulips beginning to bloom after winter. The design moves from deeper greens at the center into lighter shades toward the sides and upper portion of the Drop, creating the feeling of fresh grass, new leaves, and the gradual awakening of the landscape. A warm yellow sun rises above the scene, completing the composition with a touch of brightness and movement.

Spring Awakens is created from 12 individually hand-cut and finished pieces of stained glass. Each piece is selected for its color, texture, and ability to change as sunlight passes through it. The combination of carefully arranged glass, traditional stained glass techniques, and the Art Deco-inspired structure creates a small-scale artwork that reveals new details throughout the day.

Only 10 Spring Awakens Drops will be created. Each one is handcrafted in my central Indiana studio and will have the natural variations that make handmade stained glass artwork unique.
