Thomas Critchlow Art Glass pieces are handmade stained glass, created in my Central Indiana studio. TCAG is a one-woman shop with no production molds or assembly lines. From selecting glass and the first cut to the patina and final polish, each step is completed entirely by hand. Small variations are part of the process and are one of the features that make each piece special.
Every Sheet of Glass is Unique
Every sheet of art glass has its own personality, color, texture, transparency, and color patterns. Variations are the norm, not the exception! Opalescent glass, in particular, can show beautiful shifts in depth and character depending on the lighting and how each piece is cut. I use those differences to create beautiful stained glass suncatchers, panels, and home decor.
No Two Pieces Are Exactly Alike
Each Thomas Critchlow Art Glass piece is individually created in the studio. Glass is carefully selected, cut, shaped, assembled, and finished by hand. Small differences occur in:

About Solder and Finishing
Traditional stained glass techniques use hand-applied solder and finishing. Small differences in solder lines, texture, and final details occur. These variations are part of the artisan stained glass process and contribute to the handmade nature of the finished piece.
