Bird

This minimalist stained glass songbird suncatcher features a simple bird silhouette paired with carefully selected art glass. Each bird has the same charming shape, while the glass combinations create a distinct personality through color, transparency, and texture.

Choose from five songbird-inspired designs:

Oriole — transparent orange glass paired with dark grey-black seedy glass. The tiny bubbles throughout the glass add texture and depth, creating a rich contrast between warm and dark tones.

Bluebird — bright sky blue glass paired with wispy translucent white glass. The combination gives this little bird a soft, airy appearance.

Robin — warm amber and orange tones paired with red glass. A textured Celtic Knot glass adds movement and detail to the bird’s head and wing.

Purple Martin — dusky transparent purple glass paired with dark grey-black seedy glass. The layered transparency creates a deeper, more dramatic color combination.

Goldfinch — bright yellow glass paired with dark grey-black seedy glass for a cheerful contrast of light and dark.

Although the silhouettes are intentionally simple, each bird is unique because of the glass selected for its design. Together, the collection creates a coordinated group of handcrafted songbirds, each with its own combination of color and texture.

Made by hand in my central Indiana studio using traditional stained glass techniques, each songbird is carefully assembled, soldered, and finished before making its way to you. The combination of hand-selected glass and traditional craftsmanship makes each piece a small work of handmade art.

The suncatcher measures approximately 3" × 4". It is a lovely addition to a kitchen window, reading nook, office, or any space where a small piece of stained glass can catch the light and be enjoyed. It also makes a meaningful gift for bird lovers, gardeners, nature enthusiasts, and collectors of handmade glass art.

Because each ornament is handcrafted, slight variations in glass texture, finish, and details may occur. These natural differences are part of what makes handmade stained glass special. Learn about variations in handmade stained glass.
